ABERDEEN, S.D. – Two Northern State University bands will present their spring concert, entitled “Local Colors” on Sunday, March 26, at 3 p.m., in the NSU Johnson Fine Arts Center Main Theater.

The concert features a variety of spring colors and textures, combined with local talent, featuring NSU faculty and students.

Featured performers include:

Professor Fred Hemke, solo flute

Dr. Grant Manhart, solo trumpet

Dr. Ginny Lewis, composer

Taylor Johnson of Aberdeen, solo cello

Molly Royals of Rapid City, solo clarinet

Colton Schaefer of Wilmot, conductor

Elsa Swanson of Chaska, Minn., vocalist

The NSU Concert Band is directed by Dr. Audrey Miller and the Symphonic Band is directed by Dr. Rolf Olson.

Tickets for the event are $5 for adults, $2.50 for NSU faculty/staff and free to NSU students with ID. Tickets can be purchased via the School of Fine Arts website (northern.edu/artsnsu) or at the JFAC box office.
