Monday, July 17, Ice Cream Social Presented by the Staff Council
Join the Northern State Staff Council, faculty and staff for a free ice cream social on Monday, July 17, from 1-3 p.m. in the Avera Student Center. Ice cream and floats will be available for all attendees to celebrate the 2022-23 academic year and the efforts made. See you there!

 

Northern Fort Playhouse 
Northern Fort Playhouse performances of “Clue, the Musical” are July 7, 15 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. and July 9 at 2 p.m. Performances of “Any Body Home?” are July 8, 14 and 21 at 7:30 p.m. and July 16 at 2 p.m. All performances are in the South Barracks Theater at Fort Sisseton Historical State Park. Upcoming Campus Power Outages
Another power outage will take place this summer in order to replace a sectionalizing switch located near Spafford Hall. This outage will occur on Saturday, July 15. Krikac Administration, Spafford Hall and Dacotah Hall will be without power for the entire day. This power outage will affect network access in the following locations:

2023 NSU Common Read
Northern’s 2023 Common Read book will be “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,” by Rebecca Skloot. Two members of the Lacks family will present the Larry and Julie Poeppel Family Common Read Lecture at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Johnson Fine Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public. Copies of “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” will be available for purchase for $12.25 including tax in the Wolf Shoppe.

 

Parade Registration Open
Registration is now open for the 107th annual NSU Gypsy Day Parade, set for Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. in downtown Aberdeen. Entrants will decorate their float based on this year’s theme, “Wolves Go to Vegas.” A panel of judges comprised of Northern and community leaders will present awards in various categories.
