  • Northern State University will hold winter commencement on Nov. 21

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will hold winter commencement at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21.

    The ceremony, which takes place in the Barnett Center, is open to all 2020 NSU graduates.

    After assessing the current increase in cases in Brown County with area health officials and government agencies, it was determined that only graduating students, along with faculty and select staff, will be allowed inside the Barnett Center for the ceremony.… more

  • New partnership between NSU, Dacotah Bank guarantees interview for Banking and Financial Services graduates

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – A new partnership between Northern State University and Dacotah Bank will guarantee a personal interview for graduates of the NSU Banking and Financial Services program.

    Starting this winter, all students graduating from Northern’s Banking and Financial Services program – undergraduate or graduate, online or on campus – will be guaranteed an interview at one of Dacotah Bank’s locations.

  • NSU student receives national recognition at PBL virtual event

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University student William Ellwanger received national recognition at a virtual Phi Beta Lambda event this summer.

    Ellwanger earned eighth place in the “Contemporary Sports Issues” category at the PBL National Leadership Experience, which took place in June.

  • NSU to merge schools of business, education into College of Professional Studies

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – This summer, Northern State University is merging two of its academic areas to create one larger administrative unit that blends business and education.

    Northern’s new College of Professional Studies will bring together the Millicent Atkins School of Education and NSU School of Business, creating a shared mission of preparing students for professional careers.

  • Campus visits resume June 15 at Northern State University

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – Starting next week, Northern State University will begin offering campus visits to prospective students and their families on a limited basis.

    Personalized, on-campus visits resume on Monday, June 15, with two visits offered each day. Visitors can get a first-hand look at life at Northern, including touring campus and meeting with faculty and staff.

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – Students from the Northern State University Phi Beta Lambda Chapter/Business Club received honors at the virtual North Dakota PBL State Leadership Conference 2020.

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – This spring, a student team from the Northern State University School of Business’ Policy and Strategy class tied for the top ranking score worldwide in a simulated competition.

    NSU students Patrick McCormack and Kue Moo, both seniors, earned a Global Top 100 ranking on the following criteria:

    • Overall Game-to-Date Score: 110.0, tied for the best overall score performance of the week, worldwide.

  • NSU student’s research project accepted into national conference

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – A research project by a Northern State University student has been accepted into the Association of Leadership Educators Annual Conference.

    Ashley Meyer’s project, “Training for Middle-Level Managers: A Qualitative Study,” was accepted for the Practice and Research Posters presentation at the conference, set for July 12-15 in Nashville.
