    HURON, S.D. – Elementary and secondary teachers looking to expand their expertise, while engaging face-to-face with their peers, are encouraged to enroll in the Northern State University Master of Education in teaching and learning program at the Huron Community Campus (HCC).

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – After providing nursing workforce for the Aberdeen community for more than a decade, South Dakota State University will discontinue its accelerated Bachelor of Science in nursing in Aberdeen in Dec. 2026, as Northern State University begins graduating students from its recently approved bachelor’s of nursing program.

    Through an agreement between SDSU and Northern, SDSU has been offering the Bachelor of Science in nursing program on Northern’s campus to students who had completed Northern’s pre-nursing courses. The launch of the BSN program at… more

    ABERDEEN, S.D. –  Last weekend Northern State University Speech and Debate sent a small but mighty crew to New York City to compete in two styles of debate at the Off-Broadway Swing competition.   • ABERDEEN, S.D. –  This Saturday, Dec. 9, 117 students will graduate at Northern State University’s winter commencement.

    The public is welcome to attend and honor our new Wolves alumni. The commencement ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Jewett Theater. It is expected to last approximately 90 minutes.

    Dr. Hannah Walters, Associate Professor in the School of Business and 2023 NSU Foundation Faculty Excellence Awardee, will deliver the commencement address.

  • Northern State University Professor of History, Art Marmorstein, will give a talk on the rise of anti-Jewish sentiment in Nazi Germany at 7 p.m. Nov. 29, in Johnson Fine Arts Center, Room 181. The talk is highly relevant to the recent rise of anti-Jewish sentiment and violence in America and around the world.

    Marmorstein will present “It Couldn’t Happen Here: The Rise of Anti-Jewish Sentiment in Nazi Germany,” which will discuss how an advanced, educated, highly literate and cultured people could descend into a regime define by anti-Jewish hate.

Lomis Music Scholarship fund covering the 2023-24 academic year for the following students: Ashlee Kaup, Hoven; Ava Pickard, Sioux Falls; Cassie Webb, Aberdeen; and Madelyn Westby, Aberdeen.
