My favorite thing about NSU is the vibe. NSU gives off friendly and similar vibes you would receive from your friends and family.

Other people would describe me as...

If you would ask my friends or people I know, they would have said I am always cheerful, friendly, caring, and energetic. (^ v ^)

Why did you choose Northern?

I chose Northern State University because it has excellent education programs. I also chose Northern because my older sister went to Northern and had a fun experience there. Also, some of my teachers back in Huron, SD, went to Northern and told me about their knowledge, which was magical.

The person I look up to most is...

The people I look up to are my older sister and my parents. I look up to my older sister because she taught me to love myself and live to the fullest, and mistakes are okay to make because you'll learn from them. My parents worked so hard to be where we are. Because of my parents, I get to have an education, let alone go to college. My parents are a true inspiration for working hard. They taught me to work hard and that you can achieve anything.

When I'm not working, I am...

When I'm not working, I hang out with friends and family. On campus, I go to all the events with my friends and have a fantastic time. Some of the events we would go to are the sports games (basketball, volleyball, and football), game night, bowling, movie night, etc. When not with my friends, I spend time with my family.

What has been your biggest achievement in life so far?

My most significant achievement in life so far is becoming a U.S. citizen. I could not have done this without my parents. I was born in Thailand and lived in a refugee camp for seven years. We were fortunate enough to get accepted into the U.S. Becoming a U.S. citizen was a blessing.

Favorite class that you have taken here?

My favorite class I have taken here so far is my education class because it is my major and very interesting. I have also taken some general classes such as art appreciation or environmental science that are fun because we did many fun activities in class and outside campus.

One of my bucket list items is...

One of my bucket list items is to travel around the world. This will take time, but I will see all the places I want to experience one day.

I could not live without...

I could not live without my friends or family. I know that sounds cheesy, but they always surround me. I hang out and do many activities with my friends; they always put me in a good mood. My family has always been my biggest supporter.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

As a kid, I wanted to be many things, such as a monk, news anchor, ophthalmologist, and teacher. My dream is still to become a teacher to this day, and I am in the process of achieving it at Northern State University.

A motto I live by is...

A motto I live by is to enjoy every moment you live. I chose this motto because it is essential. It can be stressful as a student, and sometimes, we must remember to enjoy small things.

A favorite memory with my friends on campus:

My favorite memory with my friends on campus is cooking together and going to events. Living in a dorm, you meet so many people, so you get to interact with them. I usually invite all my friends on the same floor when I cook. It is always a good time. Also, there are always events on campus, so going to events with friends can be so much fun.

Tell me about a cool opportunity you've had at NSU:

An incredible opportunity I had at NSU was being the vice president of the international club. This was a big step because I was afraid to mess up, and it was out of my comfort zone. Since then, I have overcome my fear, and it turns out it was not a bad idea but an incredible opportunity.

My best piece of advice for students considering NSU is...

My best piece of advice for students considering NSU is to get involved. I know that sounds scary, but once you get involved, you will have so much fun! You will meet great people and become friends with them.

Tell me a story about your favorite on-campus activity:

My favorite on-campus story would be the Culture Fest. I love this event because people around campus would come and share their culture. This may include food, artwork, games, and clothes. In this event, I meet new people and learn about their cultures. It is a great experience.
