  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University held a groundbreaking ceremony for its two new residence halls on Thursday, April 20.

    About 100 people attended the ceremony, including NSU students, faculty, staff and administration; city and state officials; and members of the business community. The event took place at the location of one of the planned residence halls, south of the Mewaldt-Jensen Building on the NSU campus.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will hold a spring plant sale 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, and Thursday, April 27, in the NSU greenhouse.

    A variety of plants will be available, including geranium planters, King Tut Papyrus, maternity plants, Cuban oregano and many other living gems.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will say goodbye to Lindberg Hall by celebrating J.C. Lindberg Day on April 30.

    J.C. Lindberg Day, hosted by the Lindberg Hall Council, will be held 1-3 p.m. at the hall and will include yard games, brick painting and walking tacos. The event is free and open to the public.

    Construction began on Lindberg Hall in November 1952, according to the NSU history book “Northern State University: The First Century.” In summer 1953, 68 students filled the first two floors of the building. In 1956, additional funding was… more

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. -  Several Northern State University students received honors at the 2017 NSU Undergraduate Creativity, Scholarship and Research Forum on April 13.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Dr. Tim Mantz has been appointed dean of the School of Business at Northern State University.

    Mantz most recently served as dean of the Graduate College of Business and associate dean of the Graduate School at Keiser University, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. In this role, he created relationships with business for internships, job opportunities and professional advisory boards. He has also held positions as a faculty member and department chair.

  • Aberdeen, S.D. – NSU Athletics and the United Way of Northeastern South Dakota will host the 15th annual Day of Champions this Saturday, April 22nd. The community service event places Wolves student-athletes with organizations in the Aberdeen community and surrounding areas, volunteering their time with various projects.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University Millicent Atkins School of Education student Tania Stahl was selected to receive the 2017 Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award from the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC).

    Stahl is an active member of NSU’s CEC chapter, where she has served as the treasurer for the past three years. Stahl is known for always stepping forward to volunteer her time to help out with events such as Read Across America and Spread the Word to End the R-Word.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Dr. A. S. Elkhader will present “The Last Lecture I’d Ever Give” at the April 26 Noon Forum at Northern State University before he retires from almost 30 years of service with NSU and the state of South Dakota.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University and the Johnson Fine Arts Center Gallery, working with media artists Teri Rueb and Alan Price, have engaged students, faculty and community members across the Dakotas and beyond to create a collaborative mapping project that focuses on the land, water and people of Aberdeen and the Dakotas more broadly.
