  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Dr. Andria Moon, NSU assistant professor of elementary education, Dr. Cheryl Wold, NSU assistant professor of special education, and Dr. Greg Francom, NSU assistant professor of E-learning, have recently published an article in the latest issue of “Tech Trends.”

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Four NSU School of Business students received second place in the Society for Human Resource Management’s Student Case Competition, held on March 31 and April 1.

    Northern students Joellen Miller of Houghton; Zachary Ulmer of Lisbon, N.D.; Nick Murphy of Elk Point; and Alexander Gray of Pierre came in second place, behind the University of Central Oklahoma, a big honor considering the nationwide scope of the competition.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – On Friday, April 28, the Jazz Ensembles of NSU will host their annual Spring Swing Dance at the historic Ward Hotel.

    Doors for the event will open at 6 p.m., with music beginning at 7 p.m. Featured will be the NSU Jazz Combo, directed by Frederic Hemke, and the 2 O’Clock Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Grant Manhart.   • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The 2017 Northern State University Undergraduate Creativity, Scholarship and Research Forum will take place 11 a.m.-4:15 p.m. Thursday, April 13, in the Beulah Williams Library.

    The forum is a venue in which Northern undergraduates can present their research or scholarly activities. This year, nine students will give oral presentations and seven will give poster presentations.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The reception for Maggie Martinmaas’ senior art exhibition will be April 24 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Northern State University Student Center Gallery.

    Her exhibition will be up April 24-May 5. Martinmaas will display lithography, sequential art, comics and animations.

    Martinmaas, the daughter of Gary and Jennifer Martinmaas, grew up in Aberdeen, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School.

    A fine arts major, Martinmaas has studied with all of the art faculty members while at NSU. She will graduate from Northern in May.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Carrie Wegleitner’s senior art exhibition will be on display in the Northern State University Faculty Gallery beginning on April 24.

    A reception for the exhibition will be held in the NSU Faculty Gallery from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 24. The exhibition will be on display for two weeks following the reception.

    Wegleitner grew up in Lake City, graduating from Britton-Hecla High School in 2013. She is the daughter of Catherine and Dan Wegleitner of Lake City.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Shayla Simons’ senior art exhibition will be on display in the Northern State University President’s Gallery from April 24 through May 8.

    A reception for the exhibition will take place from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 24, in the President’s Gallery.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Dr. Jeremy Reed has been named the new vice president of enrollment management and student affairs at Northern State University.

    Reed is currently director of undergraduate admissions at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. His past experience includes working as director of career services at Augustana College in Illinois; director of admissions for MacMurray College in Illinois; and assistant dean of students/director of career services for Iowa Wesleyan College.
